Project Based Learning
13-15 year olds
14 days commencing:
Nothing beats the feeling of helping others. Especially when you’ve built new skills and knowledge to make a real impact. Study Social Entrepreneurship with us and you’ll explore social projects in health, education or employment and learn how to analyse social problems and innovate solutions.
We’ll visit social enterprises for inspiring stories and to learn first-hand how our public services work. The course is centered around developing a social solution and financial model to match, before pitching it to industry experts. What a chance to showcase your skills and commitment to enhancing society.
On our project-based courses, you will work on a group project which is defined by your tutor and based on a complex real-life problem. Each course will have a theme which connects all subjects, to encourage collaboration between groups and peer feedback. In taught sessions, your tutor will equip you with the practical subject knowledge required to address the problem you have been assigned, and you will take ownership of your project during group work facilitated by teaching assistants. To learn from industry experts, you will also visit companies, innovators, and experts to immerse you in the current issues defining your subject area and the overall course theme. Your course will culminate in group presentation to peers, staff and external experts.

"Our tutor was very interesting and passionate and the visits were linked to the subject."
"Our tutor and TA were super helpful. They are masters in their field and a honour and pleasure to work with. It was amazing."
"I picked law because I’ve always been interested in it and the course was obviously hard but I learnt a lot."
"The best lesson I have had so far was at the beginning of the course when we studied Game Theory, and when we did presentations in class about shops or platforms that we had to imagine ourselves."
"The best thing about the Medicine course was the interactivity of the lectures. My tutor was really interested in the subject, so I always felt like I could go up to her and ask her questions, whether they were about what we were learning or about other areas of biotechnology."
