Outline
Economics is designed for 13–15-year-olds who want to understand how markets work and how economic decisions shape the world. Students will explore key concepts such as supply and demand, market structures, and government intervention, while also diving into areas like behavioural economics. They’ll learn how economic theories apply to real-world scenarios and develop critical thinking skills to understand the economic forces that influence daily life. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors tailor the course to the group’s interests, making learning dynamic and relevant. The course also includes a masterclass on teamwork and debating, along with a reflection session to help students track their goals and progress.
Teaching methodology
Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.
The city of Cambridge, with over 800 years of academic tradition, has played a major role in shaping economic thought—from early theories of trade and markets to modern research that influences global policy. As part of the 13–15 Economics programme, your child will live in a city defined by analysis, debate, and discovery. The city of Cambridge provides an inspiring backdrop for learning, with its historic colleges, renowned libraries, and a tradition of exploring how economies function and evolve.
Accommodation is available in single or twin rooms, depending on the tier chosen. Plus students can choose single or twin, Superior guarantees an ensuite, and Premier provides concierge-selected rooms. All options include shared spaces and on-course staff for support.
Meals are provided on a full-board basis, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Students eat in the college dining hall or at local restaurants. All dietary requirements are catered for.

This course introduces students to how societies manage resources, how businesses grow, and why global events affect everyday life. Through lively discussions, trading simulations, and real-world case challenges, learners begin to see patterns behind how the world works — building confidence, curiosity, and the ability to think critically about big questions.
Small seminar-style classes (maximum 8 students) ensure every learner has space to explore ideas and challenge perspectives with guidance from expert tutors. Afternoons combine independent tasks, teamwork projects, and interactive exercises that connect economic theory to current events and global issues. With structured social time and continuous support throughout the week, students leave more analytical, more independent, and inspired to explore how they can make an impact on the world of finance, policy, or entrepreneurship.
