Delve into the finest works of English Literature from centuries ago to the modern day on our fascinating and influential course, and explore love, tragedy, and the human condition all summer long. Develop a new appreciation for literature by analysing a selection of key works and exploring the social and cultural context in which they were formed. Additionally, set and reflect on ambitious goals with our support, participate in tutorial Q&A sessions, and gain industry insights through discussions with experts. Teaching methodology
Learn the Oxford way with tutorial-style teaching. Your expert tutor will foster self-directed learning and critical thinking through interactive seminars in small groups (no bigger than 8). During your course, you will complete two pieces of independent work (essays or problem sheets), which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial. Tutorials will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor and learn new perspectives from your classmates. On completion of the course, you'll receive a certificate and letter of recommendation from your tutor.

The course is structured over two weeks, focusing on various topics across centuries of English literature, including novel openings, sonnets, and nature poetry.
Week 1: Novel Openings and Analysis (Example)
