Learning

Outline

Business and Entrepreneurship is designed for 13–15-year-olds who want to learn how successful businesses are built—and how to turn great ideas into reality. Students will explore the foundations of business, including marketing, promotions, customer satisfaction, and revenue generation. They’ll study real-world case studies and develop their own entrepreneurial ideas, learning how to reach target audiences and meet market demands. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors tailor the course to the group’s interests, making learning practical, dynamic, and relevant. The course also includes a masterclass on teamwork and collaboration, as well as a reflection session to help students review their goals and progress.

Teaching methodology

Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.

The Oxford Summer Courses experience

Get ready to bring ideas to life. On our Business and Entrepreneurship course for ages 13–15, your child will explore what makes a successful business — from idea generation and branding to marketing, finance, and leadership. They’ll learn how entrepreneurs spot opportunities, take risks, and turn creative thinking into action. With no fixed curriculum, students are encouraged to share their interests when they apply, and our expert tutors will adapt the course content to reflect those passions wherever possible.

With classes capped at no more than 8 students (and often fewer), learners benefit from personalised attention and the space to express their ideas, debate strategies, and develop practical skills. Lessons are interactive and discussion-based, with real-world case studies, collaborative projects, and independent challenges. Directed study sessions give students time to refine their thinking, complete homework, and explore new topics with support from on-course staff.

Beyond the classroom, students enjoy a full summer programme — including games, social events, city outings, and a final graduation ceremony and disco. It’s a summer that encourages ambition, creativity, and confidence.
