Outline
Law is designed for 13–15-year-olds who are interested in understanding how legal systems shape our rights, freedoms, and responsibilities. Students will explore key legal concepts, such as the principles of justice, government control, and human rights, while examining real-world issues like cybercrime, fraud, and privacy. They’ll develop critical thinking and reasoning skills as they learn how the law adapts to new challenges, such as digital technology. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors tailor the course to the group’s interests, making learning engaging, relevant, and thought-provoking. The course also includes a masterclass on teamwork and debating, along with a reflection session to help students track their goals and progress.
Teaching methodology
Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.
The city of Cambridge, with over 800 years of academic tradition, has a long history of legal thought and debate, shaping ideas of justice, rights, and governance. As part of the 13–15 Law programme, your child will live in a city defined by inquiry and scholarship. The city of Cambridge provides an inspiring backdrop for learning, with its historic colleges, renowned libraries, and a tradition of exploring how laws influence society.
Accommodation is available in single or twin rooms, depending on the tier chosen. Plus students can choose single or twin, Superior guarantees an ensuite, and Premier provides concierge-selected rooms. All options include shared spaces and on-course staff for support.
Meals are provided on a full-board basis, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Students eat in the college dining hall or at local restaurants. All dietary requirements are catered for.

Law isn’t just something that happens in courtrooms — it shapes countries, communities, and the choices we make every day. This course introduces students to legal thinking through real-world case studies and lively debate, encouraging them to explore how fairness, rights, and responsibility are interpreted differently around the world. It’s a chance to develop confidence in forming arguments and asking the tough questions that help shape society.
Each weekday includes small seminar-style lessons (maximum 8 students) led by tutors who guide students to express ideas clearly and think critically about legal issues. Afternoons feature collaborative activities such as mock trials, structured arguments, and research tasks that show how legal decisions are made and defended. Supported by organised social events and caring pastoral staff, students develop communication, teamwork, and independence throughout the week. They leave with a sharper understanding of justice — and their own ability to influence it.
