Learning

Outline

Enterprise Explorers is designed for ambitious 11–12-year-olds who want to understand how businesses grow and succeed. From supply chains and trading to branding and product development, students will explore how real-world companies work and what sets great businesses apart. They’ll develop and pitch their own business ideas, gaining valuable skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—instead, we tailor the course to the group’s interests, keeping learning relevant, dynamic, and engaging. Each day also includes a reflection activity to help students absorb what they’ve learned.

Teaching methodology

Our teaching for 11-12-year-old students is focused on interactive and task-based learning. You will be taught by experienced primary teachers, who are there to inspire and engage you with the subjects they are passionate about. Our courses run over a week, and during this time you will develop your subject knowledge through multimedia presentations, group work, games, problem-solving, and project work with a meaningful real-life focus. This teaching style has an increased focus on age-appropriate content and offers more opportunities for independent group work than our 9-10 courses.

The Oxford Summer Courses Experience

Enterprise Explorers empowers young innovators to turn ideas into action. Through teamwork, creativity, and playful experimentation, students explore what makes businesses work — from branding to problem-solving — while building confidence in their own decision-making. It’s a chance to discover how they think, what excites them, and how collaboration brings ideas to life.

Every weekday includes two extended morning lessons in small groups (max 12–15 students), where learners design products, pitch solutions, and complete hands-on challenges inspired by real-world innovation. Afternoons feature guided project time, supervised homework clubs, and off-site excursions that connect learning to the wider world. Evenings bring reflection, outdoor activities, and age-appropriate socials — all fully supported by our experienced pastoral team. It’s learning with purpose: structured, stimulating, and designed to help young entrepreneurs find their voice.
