Outline
Architecture is designed for 18–24-year-olds who are interested in both the art and science of building design. Students will explore the rich history and theory of architecture, gaining insight into both classical and contemporary structures. The course covers everything from the fundamental principles behind architectural design to the practical skills needed to bring your vision to life. You’ll develop your understanding of spatial planning, materials, and the integration of form and function, all while studying in the inspiring city of Oxford. Throughout the course, you’ll experiment with creating your own designs, supported by expert feedback and guidance. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors tailor the course to the group’s interests, ensuring each student receives a personalised, engaging learning experience. The course also includes a masterclass on creative thinking, along with a reflection session to track progress and set new goals.
Teaching methodology
Learn the Oxford way with tutorial-style teaching. Your expert tutor will foster self-directed learning and critical thinking through interactive seminars in small groups (no bigger than 8). During your course, you will complete two pieces of independent work (essays or problem sheets), which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial. Tutorials will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor and learn new perspectives from your classmates. On completion of the course, you'll receive a certificate and letter of recommendation from your tutor.
The city of Oxford, with almost 1,000 years of academic tradition, is defined by its architecture—from medieval towers and Gothic spires to striking modern buildings. As part of the 18–24 Architecture programme, you’ll live in a city where every street tells a story of design and innovation. The city of Oxford provides an inspiring backdrop for learning, with its historic colleges, world-class museums, and a skyline shaped by centuries of architectural heritage.
Accommodation is in single or twin rooms, depending on the tier. Plus lets you choose single or twin; Superior guarantees an ensuite; and Premier provides concierge-selected rooms. All include shared spaces and on-course staff support.
Meals are provided on a half-board basis (breakfast and dinner), served in college dining halls or at selected local restaurants. Students arrange their own lunch. All dietary requirements are catered for.

Architecture shapes the spaces where life happens — blending creativity, engineering, and human need into the environments we inhabit every day. In Oxford, students explore how buildings tell stories about culture and society while learning the core principles behind structure, design, and sustainability. Through sketching, analysis, and case discussions, they discover how architects transform ideas into spaces that influence wellbeing, behaviour, and community.
Tutorial-style learning with no more than eight students gives space for experimentation, collaborative discussion, and detailed guidance on design thinking. Two independent assignments receive personalised tutor feedback that sharpens communication and visual presentation skills — valuable for portfolios and university applications. Alongside enrichment activities, college-style living, and a diverse international cohort, students gain confidence in their creative and analytical abilities. They finish the course with a certificate of completion, a tailored tutor recommendation, and a stronger understanding of where architecture could take them next.

Students can explore the castle's impressive collection of buildings and exhibitions, as well as witness jousting tournaments, falconry displays, and other live shows.
The Tower of London is a historic castle and fortress that has served as a royal palace, prison, and even a zoo over the centuries. Visitors can explore its impressive collection of buildings and exhibitions, including the iconic White Tower, the Crown Jewels, and the medieval palace. They can also learn about the infamous prisoners who were held in the tower over the centuries, including Anne Boleyn and Guy Fawkes.
