Outline
Business and Economics is designed for 13–15-year-olds who want to understand what drives global markets, businesses, and decision-making. Students will explore key principles of business strategy, economic theory, and market forces, while learning how to build persuasive arguments and think critically about real-world challenges. They’ll develop practical skills in analysis, communication, and problem-solving. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors adapt the course to the group’s interests, making learning relevant, engaging, and dynamic. The course also includes a masterclass focused on life skills such as teamwork and debating, along with a daily reflection session to help students review their progress and goals.
Teaching methodology
Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.
The city of Oxford, with nearly 1,000 years of academic history, has long been a centre of ideas that shape the world, from economics to politics and global trade. As part of the 13–15 Business and Economics programme, your child will live in a city known for debate, innovation, and enterprise. The city of Oxford provides the perfect backdrop to spark curiosity about how economies work and how businesses succeed.
Accommodation is available in single or twin rooms, depending on the tier chosen. Plus students can choose single or twin, Superior guarantees an ensuite, and Premier provides concierge-selected rooms. All options include shared spaces and on-course staff for support.
Meals are provided on a full-board basis, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Students eat in the college dining hall or at local restaurants. All dietary requirements are catered for.

Every big idea starts somewhere. On our Business & Economics course, students dive into the fast-moving world of enterprise — learning how decisions shape companies, markets, and the world around us. Through debating real business challenges, analysing everyday economic choices, and working together to develop new ideas, they’ll discover how creativity and strategy work hand in hand. It’s a confidence-boosting experience that encourages students to think independently and imagine the possibilities ahead.
Mornings are spent in small, discussion-focused seminars (maximum 8 students), where learners explore topics such as entrepreneurship, branding, global trade, sustainability, and ethical business. Afternoons are a blend of masterclasses, directed study, and subject-linked excursions that bring theory to life — like analysing pricing inside a local market or critiquing a company’s marketing strategy. Evenings include structured social activities, cultural experiences, and supervised relaxation within a real Oxford college setting. Students leave with sharper thinking, stronger communication skills, and the excitement to continue exploring where their ideas can take them.
The British Museum, located in the heart of London, is one of the world's most renowned museums, housing a vast and diverse collection of over 8 million historical artefacts from all corners of the globe. Founded in 1753, the museum covers over 2 million years of human history, from ancient civilisations to modern times.
Visiting Warwick Castle is an opportunity to explore the rich history of this magnificent medieval fortress. It dates back to the 11th century and has played a significant role in English history. Students can explore the castle's impressive collection of buildings and exhibitions, as well as witness jousting tournaments, falconry displays, and other live shows.
The Tower of London is a historic castle and fortress that has served as a royal palace, prison, and even a zoo over the centuries. Visitors can explore its impressive collection of buildings and exhibitions, including the iconic White Tower, the Crown Jewels, and the medieval palace. They can also learn about the infamous prisoners who were held in the tower over the centuries, including Anne Boleyn and Guy Fawkes.
