Medicine Cambridge summer school at Oxford Summer Courses for ages 13-15 years. Study Medicine with Oxford Summer Courses. From broken bones to terminal illness, learn how the body shuts down and recovers on our Medicine course. You’ll learn everything from the toes up, whether it's anatomy, physiology, or infectious pathology. Prepare to branch out into medical ethics, answering critical questions and citing real-life case studies for an immersive learning experience. What’s the diagnosis? Pick up essential medical science, learn how to think (and act) like a doctor, and apply your new skills to real clinical cases. Engage in a masterclass to acquire life skills like teamwork, debating, and collaboration through an interactive workshop led by on-course staff. Set and reflect on ambitious goals with the support of our staff and participate in a reflection session to review the goals set at the beginning of the Cambridge course and what you've learned so far.
Teaching methodology
Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.

The course is structured over two weeks, focusing on anatomy, physiology, disease, and insights into life as a doctor.

City tours and orientations by our Cambridge summer school staff provide a thorough introduction to the city, while planned activities, excursions, and group exploration allow students to immerse themselves in the local culture. Students will reside in one of Cambridge University’s most iconic colleges, including Fitzwilliam College, Sidney Sussex College, and Corpus Christi College. Accommodation will be assigned based on the tier selected during the application process.
Ages 13-15: Enjoy full-board accommodations with all meals included—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—served either at your accommodation or local restaurants, with dietary requirements catered for. For ages 16-17 and 18-24, students will have half-board accommodations that include breakfast and dinner, served either at your accommodation or local restaurants, with dietary requirements catered for.
