Main duties and responsibilities

As a Juniors Teacher and Activity Assistant you’ll be key to delivering our summer courses, playing an essential role in student welfare, leading trips and activities and ensuring the smooth running of the programmes. This role combines the Juniors teacher role with additional responsibilities outside of the classroom.

Location: Harrow, Eton, and St John’s Beaumont School. This is a residential role. Meals will be provided when on duty. Activities could include a day trip, creative activities and dining in historic locations.

Pay and hours:

Teaching: Minimum £32 per hour, equivalent to minimum £480 per course. This is based on 12 hrs contact time over 1 week, and 3 hrs additional preparation allowance per course. Pay bands depend on subject knowledge and relevant teaching experience.

Activities: £230 fixed amount for up to 20 hours of activities and residential support.

Main duties and responsibilities

Teaching: Prepare topics, materials and resources in advance for a group of up to 15.

• Complete induction training in advance to familiarise yourself with company procedures, logistical requirements and safeguarding.
• Provide students with a positive, yet challenging learning experience.
• Record attendance and report any welfare concerns to keep students safe.
• Establish and maintain good behaviour for a productive learning environment.
• Set one hour of homework for students between lessons to encourage independent learning.
• Mark and provide feedback on any items of work submitted during the course to support students’ development.
• After the course, write a report for each student to document their progress.

Activities: Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiasm, curiosity and fun on the course.

• Be the front line in ensuring the safety, welfare, enjoyment and discipline of the students.
• Support the delivery of on site activities and completing residential duties
• To supervise homework sessions with students to ensure full engagement
• To liaise with the Study Leader to ensure maintenance of Academic quality

• General competency in IT skills
• Right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor work visas for this role)
