A Packed Day of Learning and Exploration

Daily Schedule Overview

  • Q: How long is the day?
  • A: Apart from Sundays, when there is a more relaxed programme at Oxford Summer Courses, the day will start between 7.15 and 8 am. Our younger students are settled in their bedrooms between 9.30 and 10.30 pm at night. The daily programme during your summer school is a busy one, and there is registration at least twice a day. Our 13-24-year-olds should expect to do quite a lot of walking because lessons, tutorials, and seminars for your Oxford Summer Courses summer school are not always in the same place as the accommodation. You will also want to make the most of the chances to explore the city you are staying in!

Your Daily Routine at Oxford Summer Courses

Morning

Your day begins early, typically between 7.15 and 8 am, starting with a hearty breakfast served in the college dining halls. This is a great time to fuel up for the day and interact with fellow students in a relaxed setting.

Academic Sessions

After breakfast, the day is packed with academic sessions. These include lectures, tutorials, and seminars, which are often held in different locations around the city. Expect to do a fair amount of walking, which not only allows you to explore the city but also ensures you stay active.

Midday

Lunch breaks are scheduled to give you time to recharge and reflect on the morning’s learning. Depending on the course and location, lunch may be provided, or you might explore local eateries.

Afternoon

Afternoons typically feature additional academic sessions, workshops, or activities related to your course. This is a time to delve deeper into your subject and engage in interactive learning experiences.

Evening

Dinner is usually served at local restaurants, offering a chance to unwind and enjoy the local cuisine. Evenings might include social activities, group discussions, or free time to explore the city with newfound friends.

Night

Younger students are expected to be settled in their bedrooms between 9.30 and 10.30 pm. This ensures that everyone gets adequate rest to fully benefit from the rigorous academic schedule.
