Harrow School
Oxford Summer Courses hosts students aged 9–14 at Harrow School. Students stay in on-site boarding accommodation and use the school’s facilities for lessons, meals, and programme activities. Staying at this venue provides a memorable and high-quality setting for their summer experience.

The History of Harrow School
Founded in 1572 under a Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I, Harrow is one of England’s most renowned independent schools. Its academic standards, distinctive traditions, and historic architecture have made it a symbol of British education for generations.
That heritage meets a forward-looking ethos across classrooms, studios, and sports facilities. Studying here with Oxford Summer Courses gives students a tangible connection to the story of British schooling—an inspiring backdrop for their own learning journey, whether they’re taking first steps (Juniors) or ready for deeper exploration (Scholars).

Life at Harrow School
Students stay in traditional Harrow boarding houses, with separate accommodation by age group to ensure the right level of independence and support. Rooms are mainly singles with some doubles/triples, and include desks and storage; bathrooms are shared, bed linen is provided, and a weekly laundry service is included (please bring towels).
Harrow’s facilities keep learners active, creative, and safe: a swimming pool (scheduled sessions), large sports hall, arts spaces, outdoor pitches and fields, modern classrooms, and a theatre for performances. Meals are served in the historic Bekynton dining hall, where students enjoy nutritious food and a welcoming, communal atmosphere.

Famous Harrow School Alumni
Harrow has educated influential figures including Sir Winston Churchill, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Lord Byron. Its culture of leadership, creativity, and service continues to inspire students from around the world.
While Oxford Summer Courses is not affiliated with Harrow School, studying here allows Juniors and Scholars to learn in surroundings that have shaped notable thinkers for centuries—an environment that encourages ambition while celebrating individuality and curiosity.
Why Choose Harrow School with Oxford Summer Courses
Teaching is interactive and tailored to each age group: Juniors (9–12) learn through creative projects, experiments, and collaborative tasks that build foundations in problem-solving and communication; Scholars (12–14) engage in more discussion-based lessons, critical thinking challenges, and hands-on projects that develop independence and academic confidence. Small classes and expert tutors ensure personal attention across both programmes.
Round-the-clock pastoral care, structured daily routines, and a full social programme create a supportive experience beyond lessons. Scholars benefit from an enriched cultural timetable (including day trips to Oxford or Cambridge), offering a meaningful bridge toward future Oxbridge-style study, while Juniors enjoy age-appropriate activities that make learning fun and memorable from day one.
