We’ll explore democracy, the political landscape, and national tensions. Once up-to-speed on that, we’ll delve into areas such as economics and the inception of social democracy or socialist feminism and unheard voices. Engage in current and historical debate with genuine intellectual rigour, by exploring the social and philosophical frameworks of political theory. Additionally, set and reflect on ambitious goals with our support, participate in tutorial Q&A sessions, and gain industry insights through discussions with experts. Explore future career pathways, understand the Oxford and Cambridge tutorial system, and visit diverse Oxford colleges for a comprehensive summer school experience.
Teaching methodology
Learn the Oxford way with tutorial-style teaching. Your expert tutor will foster self-directed learning and critical thinking through interactive seminars in small groups (no bigger than 8). During your course, you will complete two pieces of independent work (essays or problem sheets), which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial. Tutorials will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor and learn new perspectives from your classmates. On completion of the course, you'll receive a certificate and letter of recommendation from your tutor.

Nestled within the University of Oxford’s most iconic colleges, including Lady Margaret Hall, New College, Somerville College, and Worcester College, students will experience life at one of the world’s top universities. Accommodation will be assigned based on the tier selected during the application process.
