Hughes Hall is the ideal starting point for an original and authentic Cambridge experience, providing easy access to the city centre but also an opportunity for exploring areas that are off the beaten track.

The hall stands in between the centre of town and the Mill Road area, a cosmopolitan and busy street rich in independent shops, bars and international food stores. Having functioned as a teacher training college for a long time, Hughes Hall is now home to a thriving and diverse international community of around 560 students during term time.

Since its foundation in 1885, the hall has maintained its original Victorian buildings, but has added modern facilities, including spacious single rooms and a wonderful terrace, a real favourite of our students’ during the summer.

Hughes Hall has an excellent location within the city, situated between the incredible, renowned restaurants of downtown Cambridge and the delicious meals that can be found in the independent restaurants and bars of Mill Road. Hughes Hall also boasts a stunning formal dining hall.

Hughes Hall is only the beginning. Explore all summer courses in Cambridge, held throughout the city in its most prestigious colleges.
