Outline
Physics is designed for 13–15-year-olds who want to understand how the universe works—from the tiniest particles to the forces that shape galaxies. Students will explore topics such as mechanics, electronics, astrophysics, and particle physics, developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Through independent study and group collaboration, they’ll apply the scientific method to real-world problems and deepen their understanding of complex systems. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors tailor the course to the group’s interests, making learning dynamic, challenging, and relevant. The course also includes a masterclass focused on skills like teamwork and debating, as well as a reflection session to help students review their progress and goals.
Teaching methodology
Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.
The city of Oxford, with nearly 1,000 years of academic history, has been associated with some of the world’s leading physicists, from Stephen Hawking to Roger Penrose. As part of the 13–15 Physics programme, your child will live in a city shaped by discovery. The city of Oxford provides an inspiring backdrop for learning, with its historic colleges, renowned museums, and long tradition of scientific breakthroughs.
Accommodation is available in single or twin rooms, depending on the tier chosen. Plus students can choose single or twin, Superior guarantees an ensuite, and Premier provides concierge-selected rooms. All options include shared spaces and on-course staff for support.
Meals are provided on a full-board basis, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Students eat in the college dining hall or at local restaurants. All dietary requirements are catered for.

From the laws that govern galaxies to the forces behind everyday motion, Physics reveals how the universe works — and why. On this course, students explore the fundamental principles that shape our world, asking questions, testing ideas, and developing a deeper sense of curiosity with every discovery. Guided by passionate tutors, they’ll think like scientists: investigating forces, energy, waves, and space through demonstrations, discussion, and hands-on challenges that turn abstract concepts into exciting learning moments.
In small seminars of no more than 8 students, every learner has a voice and the chance to experiment with their own ideas. Afternoons include directed study, masterclasses, and science-focused excursions, giving students real opportunities to apply what they learn. With the support of expert tutors and immersive academic experiences, they’ll strengthen problem-solving, analytical thinking, and confidence — the foundations of future STEM success.

Founded in 1753, the museum covers over 2 million years of human history, from ancient civilisations to modern times.
Visiting Warwick Castle is an opportunity to explore the rich history of this magnificent medieval fortress. It dates back to the 11th century and has played a significant role in English history. Students can explore the castle's impressive collection of buildings and exhibitions, as well as witness jousting tournaments, falconry displays, and other live shows.
The Tower of London is a historic castle and fortress that has served as a royal palace, prison, and even a zoo over the centuries. Visitors can explore its impressive collection of buildings and exhibitions, including the iconic White Tower, the Crown Jewels, and the medieval palace. They can also learn about the infamous prisoners who were held in the tower over the centuries, including Anne Boleyn and Guy Fawkes.
