Who’s Eligible to Apply to Oxford Summer Courses?
Eligibility for standard courses across all age groups (ages 9-24) requires applicants to be proficient in English and possess a keen interest in exploring the subjects they are applying for. For advanced courses in Cambridge for ages 18-24, students must have completed at least the second year of an undergraduate qualification (or equivalent) in the same area as the subject they wish to study. Tailored for ages 13-15, our Business and Entrepreneurship summer school at Oxford Summer Courses accommodates no more than 8 students. This ensures quality interaction with your teacher, granting you the freedom to pose as many questions as you'd like. Through interactive learning, our teachers guide you through new concepts, assign practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills, and provide opportunities for group work and independent research. The intimate class setting encourages active participation, allowing students to learn from diverse perspectives and engage in lively debates.
For ages 16-24, the teaching methodology remains similar, with seminars in small groups of no more than 8 students. This approach nurtures self-directed learning and critical thinking, providing an immersive and intellectually stimulating experience. During the course, you'll complete two pieces of independent work, such as essays or problem sheets, which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial. Tutorials offer the chance to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor, providing an avenue to learn new perspectives from your peers. Upon completing the course, you'll receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation from your tutor, showcasing your accomplishments and newfound knowledge.
Courses Hosted in University Colleges:
Our Business and Entrepreneurship courses are hosted in Cambridge and Oxford university colleges, including Fitzwilliam College, Sidney Sussex College, Corpus Christi, Lady Margaret Hall, New College, Somerville College, and Worcester College, spanning 14 days. For an extended adventure, seamlessly continue your academic exploration with back-to-back summer courses. Dive deeper with our Four-Week Enhanced Programme, allowing students aged 13-17 to spend 14 days in Oxford and another 14 days in Cambridge. Enjoy a complimentary overnight stay between both summer courses, ensuring a continuous and diverse academic experience across two prestigious university cities.
