GDPR Notice

From the 25th May 2018, Oxford Summer Courses – and our College partners – are compliant with a new UK Data Protection Bill based on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679.

It is the new data protection legislation that replaced the Data Protection Act 1998 and is a European Union regulation that aims to give people more control over how their personal data is collected, used, stored, and shared. It is designed to strengthen and unify the data security measures of businesses in the European Union.

We asked you for information about you to help us process your application and to make sure that we could cater to your requirements. We passed on relevant data such as dietary requirements, names, and ages to our College partners to ensure that we could fulfil our obligations to you.

We abided by UK and EU law when data was required by authorities, although this was on a case-by-case basis. For our compliance, you had to confirm to us that you gave consent for us to use your data in this way so that you could attend our courses. We did not hold personal information about you beyond December of the year you attended the course. You could confirm to us that you were happy for us to use your contact details in the future to tell you about our products. You could also tell us not to use this information, in which case we would delete your contact details.
