Studying at Gonville and Caius College
Our Cambridge summer school for ages 13–15 is hosted at Gonville and Caius College—known informally as Caius—one of the oldest and most academically distinguished colleges at the University of Cambridge. Founded in 1348, the college has a rich scientific and medical heritage, and its iconic “Three Gates” symbolise a student’s academic journey: the Gate of Humility, the Gate of Virtue, and the Gate of Honour.
Students stay and study at Harvey Court, a modern residential site for the college with bold Brutalist architecture and green, walkable grounds. Located on West Road, Harvey Court offers a quiet, contemporary space for learning and reflection—just a short walk from the college’s historic main site, the Cambridge Backs, and many of the city’s most famous academic landmarks.

Who Studies Here and How They Learn
Our courses at Gonville and Caius are designed for curious, driven students aged 13–15 who are ready to go beyond classroom basics and start thinking like scholars. With class sizes capped at eight students, each course offers close interaction with tutors, the chance to ask questions freely, and space for students to share their own ideas.
Through engaging seminars, group projects, and independent study tasks, students develop the skills they need to think critically, collaborate effectively, and work independently. Homework, small research assignments, and in-class discussion all play a role in reinforcing concepts and deepening understanding. The goal is to help every student grow in confidence and begin their academic journey with a strong foundation.
Accommodation and Facilities
Accommodation is provided at Harvey Court, a spacious, modern residence just outside the city centre. Each student stays in a private single room with an ensuite bathroom. Bed linen and towels are provided, and while kitchens are not accessible (in accordance with college rules), all meals and snacks are managed on-site by our team.
Students also benefit from a range of college facilities designed to support both study and social time. These include extensive gardens and green spaces, supervised library access during Directed Study sessions, laundry services coordinated by our staff, a student café operating from the Junior Common Room (JCR), and a supervised sports ground available at scheduled times. Together, these amenities help students feel comfortable, supported, and part of a vibrant summer learning community.

FAQs about Venues and Tier Options
Sometimes. If you’re applying for a Junior (9–12), Eton (12–14), or Spain (15–17) course, your venue is fixed: Harrow School, Eton College, or Resa Vallehermoso in Madrid. For Oxford and Cambridge, your venue is assigned based on your age, subject, dates, and pricing tier. After you apply, an advisor will contact you to confirm the details — including your venue — and help with any questions before you confirm your place.
For Oxford and Cambridge courses, you can choose from four pricing tiers: Classic, Plus, Superior, and Premier. All tiers include teaching, meals, and activities, with higher tiers offering extras like ensuite rooms, airport transfers, and more flexibility. Junior, Eton, and Spain courses have one fixed price that includes everything you need for a safe, structured, and rewarding experience.
All tiers include your course, meals, activities, and support throughout your stay. Higher tiers add benefits like private ensuite rooms, return airport transfers, travel insurance, premium merchandise, and more flexible booking terms. You can compare all tiers on our Prices and Dates page.
You’ll be told your assigned venue after you apply. One of our admissions advisors will contact you directly to confirm your course details — including where you’ll be staying. This is your chance to ask any questions or discuss options before you accept and pay your deposit.
