Whether you’re advancing in your field or exploring new directions, Cambridge provides the perfect backdrop for exploration, reflection, and growth.

Our Cambridge Summer Experience
Cambridge is a city that has shaped generations of thinkers, writers, and innovators. From the quiet courtyards of its colleges to the energy of its student cafés and riverbanks, it’s a place designed for reflection and discovery.
Our Cambridge Summer Courses for ages 18–24 capture this spirit. Classes are small and discussion-based, giving students the space to explore challenging questions, debate new perspectives, and learn collaboratively. It’s an experience that balances academic depth with inspiration — where every conversation has the potential to spark new ideas.
Our Relationship with Cambridge
Oxford Summer Courses operates independently and is not affiliated with the University of Cambridge. However, our programmes are inspired by the city’s academic culture — one that thrives on curiosity, creativity, and the exchange of ideas.
By studying within real Cambridge college settings, students experience an atmosphere that celebrates learning without boundaries. It’s an opportunity to engage with the city’s intellectual energy, explore subjects in depth, and gain insights that reach far beyond the classroom.

Courses for Ages 18–24: Advanced Learners
Our Cambridge 18–24 courses are designed for students and early-career learners who are ready to engage with advanced academic material in a supportive, discussion-led setting. Applicants must be aged 18–24 and have completed at least the second year of an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a related subject to join our advanced courses.
Subjects include Medicine, Law, Neuroscience, Biotechnology, and Business. Each course combines rigorous academic content with open discussion, helping students refine their ideas, strengthen their arguments, and connect theory to real-world challenges.
The Academic Experience
Learn the Cambridge way with tutorial-style teaching. Each student joins a small group — no larger than eight — led by an expert tutor who fosters self-directed learning and critical thinking. Lessons are collaborative and conversational, encouraging participants to question, analyse, and explore.
During the course, students complete two pieces of independent work — essays or problem sheets — which are reviewed and discussed in 1:1 or 2:1 tutorials. These sessions are the heart of the experience, offering personalised feedback and space for intellectual exploration. On completion, students receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation from their tutor, recognising their engagement and achievement.

Every day brings opportunities to explore — from quiet study in a college library to lively discussion in a local café.
Students stay in Cambridge college accommodation, surrounded by peers from across the globe who share their passion for learning. Evenings offer time to socialise, attend talks, or enjoy cultural events — making it a summer of both intellectual discovery and personal connection.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Cambridge, learning extends into every corner of the city. Students take part in excursions, workshops, and cultural activities that bring their studies to life — whether exploring a museum, hearing from a guest speaker, or punting on the River Cam.
These experiences deepen understanding and spark creativity. By engaging with Cambridge’s living history and contemporary culture, students see how ideas take shape beyond the classroom — and how curiosity can connect people and perspectives across disciplines.
