Learning
Outline
Become one of our Maths Explorers and you’ll learn how to analyse patterns, solve numerical obstacles and look at how mathematical problems exist in everyday life. We’ll explore the foundations of pure and applied mathematics and build your knowledge in a range of areas from geometric mathematics to algebra and statistics.
Expect head-scratching puzzles, frustrating (but so satisfying once you know the answer) brainteasers and codes that help you crack this multi-dimensional subject!
Teaching methodology
Our teaching for 11-12-year-old students is focused on interactive and task-based learning. You will be taught by experienced primary teachers, who are there to inspire and engage you with the subjects they are passionate about. Our courses run over a week, and during this time you will develop your subject knowledge through multimedia presentations, group work, games, problem-solving, and project work with a meaningful real-life focus. This teaching style has an increased focus on age-appropriate content and offers more opportunities for independent group work than our 9-10 courses.
The Summer Courses experience
Dive into a week of discovery with the option to extend your stay. Our balanced schedule combines morning lessons and afternoon activities across four enriching days, culminating in an exciting Wednesday trip. Subjects come to life over four days each week, supported by supervised homework sessions. Engaging afternoon and evening sessions are complemented by a unique 'house' system, mirroring the camaraderie and friendly competition of UK boarding schools. Additionally, our Wednesday Cultural Trip provides a structured, culturally enriching experience.
