Catering to learners aged 13-24, our courses span a range of subjects from Arts and Humanities, to Business and Economics, Law, Medicine, Tech, Engineering and Creative Writing - amongst many others (subjects available vary by age group). Each course lasts two weeks.

For those who wish to extend their Cambridge summer school stay, learners aged 13-24 can book back-to-back courses. Alternatively, if you aspire to experience both Cambridge and Oxford, ages 13-17 can join our four-week enhanced programme. Set within Cambridge Colleges, including Fitzwilliam College, Sidney Sussex College, Somerville College, and Corpus Christi College, our Cambridge summer courses promise a summer of discovery and independence. For the 13-15 age group, the Cambridge Summer Courses Experience is a dynamic blend of academic exploration, curriculum enrichment, and social and cultural engagement. In the academic realm, students engage in two lessons per day with their Cambridge summer school tutors, ensuring an interactive learning experience with a maximum class size of 8 students. Additionally, directed study sessions provide dedicated time to work on homework with on-course staff available for general assistance.

Moving to the 16-17 age group, academic pursuits deepen with seminars, tutorials, and independent study sessions. Goal-setting and reflection sessions remain integral, offering a personalised approach to academic and personal growth. College visits provide valuable insights into higher education options, enriching the overall Cambridge summer school experience.

For the 18-24 age group, independent study becomes a key component, allowing students to explore topics beyond seminars and develop their own ideas. Industry insights discussions and future pathways sessions offer valuable career guidance. Evening socials, diverse activities, and college visits contribute to a well-rounded Cambridge summer school experience, ensuring a holistic approach to personal and academic growth.

Stay in the City of Cambridge

Staying in the City of Cambridge offers a rich array of experiences for the 13-15 age group. City tours and orientations by our Cambridge summer school staff provide a thorough introduction to the city, while planned activities, excursions, and group exploration allow students to immerse themselves in the local culture. Formal dinners and Bop events create a unique atmosphere for socialising.

In the 16-17 age group, the experience is enhanced with evening socials and diverse activities, fostering opportunities for socialising and personal growth. Excursions become full-day trips, enabling students to explore the city and its surroundings more thoroughly. Free time is incorporated, providing flexibility to organise activities with new friends.

For the 18-24 age group, a focus on evening socials, college visits, and industry insights discussions offers a mature and comprehensive Cambridge summer school experience. Free time allows for self-directed exploration and activities with peers. The formal dinners and graduation ceremony mark the culmination of the Cambridge summer school experience, providing a sense of accomplishment and celebration.

When you apply to participate in a Cambridge summer school with Oxford Summer Courses, your accommodation assignment will be based on your chosen room type and age group. Each venue, including Fitzwilliam College, Sidney Sussex College and Corpus Christi College, offers distinctive features. Please note that you won't have the option to select your preferred Cambridge college; it will be assigned based on room availability and your age group.

For our 13-15 Cambridge age group, full-board accommodations include breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by the college, with packed lunches on excursion days and potential unique dining experiences. The 16-17 and 18-24 Cambridge age groups have half-board arrangements, offering breakfast and dinner, with dinner featuring a mix of college and local restaurant meals. Lunch is not provided, but on-course staff will offer suggestions for individual purchase.
