You may have seen on our social media feed that we have recently established a shiny new sister company called O-Labs Education!
Having launched at the very end of 2019, O-Labs Education is the latest company to join our Bridgemark family tree, joining ourselves and our other sister companies, Melio Education and Universify Education.
But what is O-Labs? And how did they come to be part of our Bridgemark family?
What is O-Labs Education?
O-Labs Education offers a range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses at Imperial College London for students aged 13-17.
Courses fuse together a combination of the world’s best teaching practices, including; elements of Stanford University’s design thinking with MIT Media Lab’s interdisciplinary approach, and the renowned educational system of the University of Oxford.
The result? An immersive and effective selection of courses that will ignite students’ passion for STEM subjects.
By placing students directly into the context of STEM and its use in the future, they hope to equip students with the creativity, autonomy and skills necessary to help shape the future, improve the human experience, and make our world a better place.
Why was O-Labs Education established?
In 2010, Oxford Summer Courses was founded by two Oxford graduates, with a passion to deliver authentic University of Oxford and Cambridge experiences to students around the world.
Then, in 2016, the company also established Universify, a charity organisation that works with students from disadvantaged backgrounds to widen access to top universities and improve student achievement.
Bridgemark Education has since been established, with the mission to deliver exceptional, authentic education with the world. We open the doors to the greatest academic institutions and resources and believe cultural experiences and educational experiences go hand in hand, and are constantly striving to provide our students with the best academia in the world.
Sitting within the Bridgemark family, O-Labs grew from a recognition of the exponential advancement and change within the fields of science and technology and the future opportunities and challenges it poses for preparing the next generation of workers.
As a leading provider of summer learning programmes in the United Kingdom, we sought to expand our current offerings at Oxford Summer Courses to include more targeted STEM-related course topics, and so, O-Labs Education was born.
What courses does O-Labs Education offer?
Currently, O-Labs Education has five summer courses available to students aged 13-17. The courses students can choose from are:
- AI, Machine Learning & Python Coding
- Robotics & Programming
- Engineering - Race to the Line
- Digital Filmmaking, Editing and Effects
- Electronic Music & Beat Production
As already mentioned, these courses are held at Imperial College London and offer both residential and non-residential options.
