Who’s Eligible to Apply to Oxford Summer Courses?

Eligibility for standard courses across all age groups (ages 9-24) requires applicants to be proficient in English and possess a keen interest in exploring the subjects they are applying for. For advanced courses in Cambridge for ages 18-24, students must have completed at least the second year of an undergraduate qualification (or equivalent) in the same area as the subject they wish to study. For ages 13-15, our Economics Summer School at Oxford Summer Courses accommodates no more than 8 students, ensuring quality time with your teacher and the freedom to ask as many questions as you like! Our experienced tutors will guide you through new concepts and assign practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. Group work, independent research, and in-class discussions will foster a deeper understanding of economic principles, and you'll benefit from learning from your peers' diverse perspectives.

For ages 16-24, the teaching methodology is similar, with seminars in small groups of no more than 8 students. This fosters self-directed learning and critical thinking, providing an immersive and intellectually stimulating experience. During the course, you will complete two pieces of independent work, such as essays or problem sheets, which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial. Tutorials will give you the opportunity to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor, enabling you to learn new perspectives from your classmates as well. Upon completing the programme, you'll receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation from your tutor, recognising your achievements and knowledge in economics.
