A Taster of Our Courses in London

Today was our first full day on the London course. The students were grouped together on the basis of their chosen subjects. The morning saw the start of the academic portions of their programmes. The business students went to St Ethelburga’s, the lawyers to the Royal Courts of Justice, the medical students to the Royal College of Physicians, the technology students to the Science Museum, and the students doing social entrepreneurship to the Wellcome Trust.

After these academic sessions in the morning, the groups reunited on a cruise on the Thames — for about 80 minutes, we drifted down the famous river, on a balmy summer afternoon, taking in the stunning views on our way from Westminster Pier to Greenwich.

When in Greenwich, the students were able to visit the Cutty Sark, Royal Naval College, Royal Observatory and meridian line, after which there was time for some dinner.

And, after all that activity, we sat down for a much-deserved dinner before heading back to Garden Halls — once again on the Thames, but this time drifting towards the setting sun.
