Safety on Our Courses
We maintain robust safeguarding procedures across all of our programmes to ensure students are safe, well supervised, and supported. These measures cover staff training, supervision standards, accommodation choices, and the activities students take part in — both on site and during excursions.
Parents are asked to provide clear consent regarding activities, travel arrangements, and free-time permissions. This allows us to care for each student in a way that’s appropriate for their age, needs, and circumstances, while ensuring parents remain informed and involved.
Staff Supervision and Ratios
Our staff-to-student ratios are carefully set to ensure students receive appropriate attention and care, while allowing staff to work effectively and safely. Younger students benefit from higher levels of supervision, while older students are supported in a way that encourages growing independence.
We always exceed minimum supervision standards, with a minimum number of residential staff present for each age group. A qualified first aider is always available on site and accompanies students on excursions, ensuring prompt and professional care whenever needed.

How Safe Are the Sites?
Most of our programmes take place on secure, closed sites with controlled or restricted access and, where applicable, 24-hour security. Accommodation and teaching venues are selected carefully to meet our safeguarding standards, particularly for younger students.
All students and staff wear identification at all times, and we operate strict visitor policies. Each venue has its own safety procedures, which are supplemented by our internal checks and inspections to ensure a consistently safe environment.
Parental Consent and Documentation
Before the course begins, parents are asked to complete consent forms covering activities, supervision arrangements, and travel permissions. For students under 16, we do not permit independent travel to or from the course.
Parents are also provided with our Safeguarding Policy and Code of Practice ahead of the course. These documents outline our responsibilities, expectations, and commitment to student safety — ensuring transparency and shared understanding from the outset.

FAQs about Student Safety
Students are supervised by trained residential and academic staff at all times, with supervision levels tailored to each age group. Younger students receive closer supervision, while older students are supported in a way that encourages independence within clearly defined boundaries. Staff are present on site 24/7 for residential programmes.
There is always a qualified first aider available on site and on all excursions. If a student becomes unwell or needs additional support, staff respond promptly and keep parents informed. For more serious concerns, we work closely with local medical services and communicate clearly with families throughout.
The majority of our programmes take place on closed or controlled-access sites, many with 24-hour security. All students and staff wear identification at all times, and strict visitor policies are enforced. Our own safeguarding checks are carried out in addition to each venue’s existing safety procedures.
Before the course begins, parents receive detailed information about supervision, activities, and expectations. During the programme, our on-site teams are available to respond to any questions or concerns, ensuring parents feel informed, reassured, and confident throughout their child’s experience.
