Learning
Outline
Law Cambridge summer school at Oxford Summer Courses for ages 13-15 years. Study Law with Oxford Summer Courses. An increasingly globalised world has opened a wealth of opportunities. We've connected with people all over the world, using the digital sphere to meet, network, and build online communities and friendships. But what happens when our freedom is restricted? How do governments control crime? From cybercrime to fraud and your right to a free trial, our Law course explores the notion of what’s right and wrong in the eyes of modern law and the pressing issues regulating our lives. Legal today, illegal tomorrow? Challenge what you understand by the word “law” and explore how the internet and modern technology are changing our idea of right and wrong. Engage in a masterclass to acquire life skills like teamwork, debating, and collaboration through an interactive workshop led by on-course staff. Set and reflect on ambitious goals with the support of our staff and participate in a reflection session to review the goals set at the beginning of the Cambridge course and what you've learned so far.
Teaching methodology
Learning in a small group (no more than 8 students and often fewer) means that you get quality time with your teacher and ask as many questions as you like! Through interactive learning, our teachers will guide you through new concepts and assign you practice tasks to build your knowledge and skills. You will also have an opportunity for group work, independent research, and homework assignments to be discussed in class. Small classes mean everyone gets to have their say, and students learn from debating with one another, as well as from their tutor.
The Summer Courses experience
For the 13-15 age group, the Cambridge Summer Courses Experience is a dynamic blend of academic exploration, curriculum enrichment, and social and cultural engagement. In the academic realm, students engage in two lessons per day with their Cambridge summer school tutors, ensuring an interactive learning experience with a maximum class size of 8 students. Additionally, directed study sessions provide dedicated time to work on homework with on-course staff available for general assistance.
