Henrietta Nagy, Business and Entrepreneurship

What was the best experience of your summer working for us?
I was very much impressed by how bright and intellectually engaged some of the students are. They quickly grasped complex business frameworks and successfully applied them to their business idea.  It has been fantastic listening to their deeply ambitious career aspirations, and their inspiration to make a very positive difference in the world.
What did you like about our company culture?
Flexibility and trust. I appreciated being able to craft my syllabus and delivering it using my expertise and creativity. You provided some guidance to the teaching process, however I had ‘ownership’ over how I was delivering it. You as a company have great initiatives to bring tutors together and provide networking opportunities.
Why should someone apply to work for us?
It is exciting to work for a fast growing and successful educational company. I am delighted to hear about your plans to offer courses via virtual platforms, internationally and at various times of the year. It is great to hear that you are expanding the palette of courses being offered to students to reflect new industry trends.
I appreciated the efficiency in the way processes are set up. As an example, I was able to sign up for the pre-course training workshop by Eventbrite, and indicate via an online form when I was available to pick up printing. It contributed to time savings, as I did not have to engage in time consuming back and forth e-mailing to make arrangements.

What was the best experience of your summer working for us?

Firstly, students’ high level of engagement, motivation, success, gratitude and satisfaction with both courses I designed and facilitated: ‘Business and Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Leadership’.

Secondly, my own satisfaction and contribution with high standards for academic learning and conduct, meaningful and engaging pedagogy and curriculum, intended learning outcomes of classroom, and personalised learning environments

What did you like about our company culture?

I like the fact, that your company creates a collaborative culture for transparency, respect and professional practice, to fully capitalise tutors’ expertise, skills and knowledge.

Your company culture holds strong beliefs, values and behaviors that determine not only how a company’s employees and management interact, but also how a professional learning community among tutors develops.

Why should someone apply to work for us?

Look at students’ achievements, high standard and quality curriculum and pedagogy, the quality of tutors, professionalism,  staff satisfaction; and apply to work.

Sebastian Lewis, Law Tutor, Oxford

What was the best experience of your summer working for us?

The most interesting thing for me was the challenge of teaching to students between 13-15 years old. At first I thought I would have to make the course rather introductory and easygoing, but in the first class I noticed that the level of the students was very good. Obviously they were not experts in the field (that’s why the came here in the first place), but they were very smart and challenging. We managed to get the debate going at all times, and it was satisfactory to notice that at the end of the course all of the students had learned important things about the topic.

What did you like about our company culture?

Oxford Summer Courses has a friendly environment and the people in charge of running the program are very nice. They also value your opinion as a teacher and make you feel part of the team.

Why should someone apply to work for us?

It is a good academic experience overall; it makes you think more about your field of study, how can I make my class interesting and how can I convey a message in a clear and simple way. It is a good way of improving your teaching skills. You also get to meet interesting people.

What was the best experience of your summer working for us?
The opportunity to teach students from all over the world, especially in an international city like Oxford, was very rewarding. The mixture of cultures and backgrounds made the knowledge acquired by the students, and myself, truly enriching.
What did you like about our company culture?
The staff at Oxford Summer Courses are very personable, approachable and are immensely supportive of tutor-student relationships. I believe each student I taught benefited from the welcoming nature of the OSC staff.
Why should someone apply to work for us?
Oxford Summer Courses gives tutors a mixture of structure and independence in designing their curricula while maintaining a high educational standard for students which ensures a mutually beneficial experience for all involved. I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to teach, learn and grow in the OSC family.
