Want to find innovative solutions to complex problems?
This course is designed to introduce you to one or more areas of mechanical engineering. The syllabus is set by the tutor, who is an expert in their field, and may include seminars on a wide range of topics, including aero, thermo, and fluid dynamics, mechatronics, structures and materials, and Computer Aided Design. You will work independently and also with others to solve engineering problems and design innovative solutions.
It will be a challenge, but we know you’re up to it.
From age 16 to 24, our Cambridge mechanical engineering summer courses are designed specifically to fit your level of experience.
Cambridge is home to some of the best minds the world, including the talented tutors on this Cambridge-based summer course.
Due to the small tutorial groups, our tutors can focus on your specific needs and interests – meaning you go away with a much more personable and relevant learning experience.

Why not mix it up a little?
Are you torn between two subjects, or undecided on which city to study in? The good news is that you can often combine two subjects, or even split your studies between different UK locations.
"I was a shy person before coming on the courses but asking and answering questions in tutorials has improved my confidence immensely – the tutors were always happy to answer any question, however silly it may have seemed, and the course staff were always so friendly, on hand to answer any questions about the course, or the teaching system in Oxford in general."
"What I liked about the activities is that everyone is in one big group for the activities. Also the activities that we did are very fun and well picked for our age group. The best activity I would say is archery tag."
"My tutor was so understanding and helpful, and made sure to give me lots of individual attention."
"I wanted to learn about different engineering concepts as my university does not allow for exploration of other types of engineering. I wanted to gain knowledge about other engineering disciplines and their application in sustainable systems."
