Study for your IELTS exam on our intensive two-week course, where we will teach you everything you need to know about the exam. You will practice exam-style reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises and receive individual feedback on your progress in each area. You will also take timed mock exams using authentic materials to get a real idea of your progress.
This course also focuses on academic writing, teaching you how to structure your essay, what vocabulary to use and useful phrases to take your writing to the next level.
You will study all possible topics for the IELTS Academic exam; from Art to Business, Environment to Education. Improve your vocabulary and practice using new language effectively.
At the end of your course, you will receive a Certificate, and a Letter of Recommendation from Oxford Summer Courses.
Studying Academic IELTS with us, you will have an intensive two weeks of practice. We use taught lessons in small groups with an experienced IELTS teacher. Our classes cover all test areas- reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as vocabulary, all with an academic focus. You will cover IELTS exam topics, take mock tests, and your teacher will give you feedback along the way to help you identify and boost key areas of improvement.
You’ll have time to explore Oxford for yourself, as well as forging new friendships for the future, and there’s an action-packed programme of social activities, field trips and excursions to help bring your learning to life. We might even head to London for the day.

Teresa Silva holds an LLB and a PhD in Constitutional Law, and her area of expertise is in European Union Constitutional Law and Latin America integration; and, she am licensed to practice law with more than fourteen years of experience in Civil and Public Law. Teresa has taught modules including constitutional law, human rights and EU law, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Teresa is currently an independent legal researcher, advising law firms, academics and public bodies in comparative law; and, she is a Blended Law Tutor and a Law Module Author at Arden University. Teresa has a significant publications record including one book in Comparative Constitutional Law, a book in Human Rights, as well as a large number of articles. Her articles are published in journals in Argentina, Mexico, Spain as well as Uruguay, giving her a wide platform of publishing across a number of Latin American as well as Spanish speaking counties. Teresa is also a monthly columnist on the latest European Constitutional Law Developments for an Argentine Law Review. Teresa was the winner of the “Estimulo” prize in Human Rights Law granted by the Argentina Academy of Law and has also won the “Accésit” prize in Constitutional Law, granted by the Argentine Bar Association.
Purnima Kumar completed her Bachelors of Engineering in Applied Chemistry at Kyushu University, Japan. As part of her Bachelor Research, she worked on treating inflammatory diseases in particular atopic dermatitis with the help of phospholipid microparticles.
The work from her research got published in the Journal of Biomedical Sciences, Polymer Science edition (2014). She then moved to Oxford for obtaining a Masters in Pharmacology. During this time she also travelled to Australia (University of Queensland) to complete her research Project which focused on studying Bronchiolitis in infants. She is now doing her DPhil in Pharmacology under the supervision of Professor Angela Russell, specializing on treating Leukemia with the stem cell approach. Purnima worked as an academic support worker for disabled students during her DPhil in Oxford. She has also assisted several seminar and practical classes for Medicine students at Oxford. She also worked to teach underprivileged students in India.
