Our Oxford-based course combines the best bits of history, philosophy and geography. Oxford has been at the heart of British and international thinking for hundreds of years. You can see this history, alongside objects from hundreds of different times and places in the wonderful museums: The Ashmolean Museum, The Natural History Museum and the Pitt Rivers Museum. Studying this Oxford summer course will give you access to the most up-to-date thinking on a wide range of topics.
This arts and humanities course is built around your own individual interests and needs rather than a rigid syllabus. It is modelled on the highly respected tutorial system that has given Cambridge University the reputation it has today. Thus, your learning will be far more interactive than you might have been used to.
You’ll visit museums and analyse art from across history, from example – looking at history and how art mirrors different periods, with an eye on both geography and philosophy. The small group tutorials give you the you have the opportunity to learn from discussions with university tutors at the top of their field. On top of plenty of one-to-one tutor time, your fellow students will be from all over the world, exposing you to a variety of different perspectives.
