NICHOLAS JONES: Commercial Lawyer

After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in Law, Nick moved to the magic circle Law firm Clifford Chance. One of the largest law firms in the world, Clifford Chance has over 3,300 lawyers and a revenue of over £1 billion.

While at Clifford Chance Nick worked on a range of deals to buy and sell large multi-national companies and his career has taken him to places as diverse as Turkey, Spain and Latin America.

As a commercial lawyer the deals Nick has been involved in have touched on banking and finance as well as the merger of two companies or the acquisition of one by another. Working across the spectrum of commercial law and on multiple deals has given Nick a deep understanding of the key elements that help get the deal over the line.

Course Location

Visit the highest courts in the land and see first hand how the legal system works.

During your course you will get the opportunity to visit some of the most prominent legal sites in the UK including visits to the Supreme Court (final court of appeal in the UK), Royal Courts of Justice (court building in London which houses the High Court and Court of Appeal of England and Wales) and The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, The Old Bailey. You will also get the chance to view one of the worlds most celebrated documents, the Magna Carta situated in the British Library, which is what our whole legal system is based on today.

As part of your course you will also visit two of the four ‘Inns of Court’ which are the professional associations for barristers in England and Wales, these will include the Inner and Middle Temple.
